fire opal

meet (winged) fire opal! quite possibly the smallest fusion you ever will see! they're about as tall as a sapphire! so tiny?!? XombieJunky designed this babe and i adopted them! and made them a fusion (since i have two fire opals that arent fusions and they look very different~) the gem on their forehead is a pearl, and the one just below their navel.. hm, im unsure. a quartz of some kind! i'll decide when i draw their components. they pronouns for this darling please! they're a beautifully genderless babe.

this fire opal is a fast-thinking badass, with a lot of smarts and eyes as keen as a hawk's. unfortunately, since they're so small, they don't have a lot of hitting power, but by curling in their weapon (their summonable wings) and using the power of their quartz side, the spin dash, they can become a drill like force and get right into their enemies' weak points when they've determined what they are. they're a fast and powerful little bullet of a gem when they know where to strike.

initially fused out of purpose, the pearl and quartz were incredibly shocked by their new.. height deficiency. why am i so small? they dismayed, feeling down their new and tiny body. fusions are supposed to be big! powerful!  they unfused, staring at each other unsurely and upsetly, wondering what went wrong. they decided they would be more powerful fighting as their own individual selves, and fire opal was gone for some time. in a fight against a particularly nasty and enormous quartz, a jasper, they fused in a panic and fire opal was back, baby.

the jasper laughed at them, pointing and holding her gut, particularly bemused by the fact that a fusion was so pathetic and tiny, especially since the size of a fusion is usually determined by raw power level, stronger fusions being larger and weaker ones being smaller. fire opal was actually one of the few gems who got even smaller than their components when they came into being. determined and upset, fire opal summoned their weapon for the first time amd flew about the jasper, small and bothersome and hard to strike. finding the jasper's gem took no time at all, and after flying up high, they drilled down into the physical form close to it, and poofed her with ease, before making their escape and defusing somewhere safe.

fire opal came to be more and more, slowly learning who they were and what it meant to be fire opal, not just pearl and quartz. after fighting the loyal homeworld jasper, after staying together like they did, fire opals components were too frightened to return home, and instead camped out on a satellite for a while, just by themselves. terrified, and alone but together, they watched the fleets of ships from homeworld fly to earth and the arenas to attack during the war, and then watched them return after detonating the light bomb on earth.

at one point, wandering the satellite, they came across what so happened to be a collection of gems, all of various fruity flavours. they were welcomed and felt safe in the care of the reigning sub diamond, who so happened to be a fusion of love, like them. after staying there for some time, they decided they wanted to see what earth was like, and why some gems fought so hard for it.

while defused to watch each others back, they ran into another pearl, who was absolutely delighted to meet another of her type. the pearls became close rather quickly. however, when fire opal's pearl component revealed to brass pearl that she was only like this for a while before they would fuse back into fire opal again, brass was displeased. well, at least initially. after properly meeting fire opal and seeing how interesting they were, she couldn't stay upset, and they became fast friends.
